the foundation of every great hairdresser starts with understanding form, function, and the relationship between action and reaction. the cutting incubation lab is a live zoom session every 3 weeks designed to inspire, educate, and refine the cutting skills of apprentices from the very beginning of their hairdressing journey.
traditional cutting education follows a linear, step-by-step approach—but true mastery comes from understanding the why behind every action. this program flips the script, focusing on finished forms that today’s hairdresser connects with and reverse-engineering the techniques needed to achieve them. by working this way, apprentices develop a natural, subconscious awareness of shape, structure, and movement—building confidence in their hands and clarity in their approach.
every session is designed to give apprentices the skills and mindset to cut with purpose, create with confidence, and develop an intuitive understanding of form—ensuring they don’t just learn how to cut, but learn how to think like a cutter.
